At most houses  most energy to heat the house are gone through the walls (45%) and ceilings(30%). Those figures can be summarized by most people spend on their energy bills.  If you total sum that number in years, it would be so significantly a wasted.

So the best way to reduce the wasted bill is by blocking the heat out off the house. You need to put on insulation on your walls and ceilings. The total cost of insulation installation may be a bit expensive, but it doesn’t has on going cost. It can be considered as an investment.

There are many types of home insulation products. There is a foil, foam , polyesterine or wool product.  The cost of those materials may vary depends on brands. In some developed coutries like Australia, the goverment is used to give subsidiary to every home owners who want their home to be insulated.

You are working hard. 5 days a weeks.8 hours a day. And you feel depressed ! Especially in this economic down hill. So what to do to escape ?

Some people may suggest you to take vacation. Going out off town with family. Some would say : “That is expensive. You have to pay the gas to get there. It also would take more afford to consolidate your other family members to get ready and jump on the car.”

But to get off from this fatigue,boredom and tiredness ? How to escape without spending too much money and time ? how to be so fresh on every Monday morning , when the tedious life start to run again and again ?

Simple suggestion. Gardening.  It would help you to recover quickly.

“But i don’t have big backyard. How can i do it ?”

You don’t have to have a big backyard to do gardening. You can start from a small pot. You can get it from KMART or other general supermarket at competitive prices. Then you need compos and seeds. Flower seeds would be enough. Or even you could get a ready to plant flowers from some gardening shops.

Gardening may make your hand a bit dirty (unless you put your gloves on), but it would give you a small escape from your daily routines. You also could involve your kids or partner to do it.  First time you do it, you would make a lot of mess. But soon after couple times practice you would see it very easy and enjoyfull. Especially when the plants you grew start growing and produce blossoming flowers or fruits.

When you live in southern or nothern hemisphere, you need to consider to carpet or not to carpet your home.  Some poeople prefer to carpet there home because it would make there home more comfy and warm. But some are not thinking that way. They might think having their home carpetted would put them more on going expense in maintenance, especially if you have pets around.

But how if you carpet you home partly. You just need to select which room you would like to carpet.

Most house has Bedroom, livingroom, dining room and kitchen ( i don’t consider bathroom to be carpetted LOL). Me my self prefer to only carpet my bedroom and living room. There reason is simple, my bedroom is a private room that only me to sleep. I need to feel warm and comfy there. The living room is place we are used to let the guest to sit. So, it has to be carpetted as well.

So why don’t i consider dining room and kitchen ? Mmmm because that place only occasionaly visited, when you prepare your food or when you have your meal. And some people are used to spill some remnants of food all around either when they cook or eats.  You have to consider that cleaning carpet from food stain wouldn’t be that easy.

Day by day it is getting more difficult to get fresh water. There are so many countries struggeling to get it. The rich country like Singapore, they have desalinisation plant to extract fresh water from sea water.

But some poor countries are still has no clue on how to solve this problem. They don’t have enough capital to be invested to provide their people fresh water. I saw how people in Zimbabwe took dirty waters from the contaminated banks for their daily consumptions. So many of their people died because of Cholera that were spread through dirty water.

So,go back to our reality here. Eventhough we live in developed or developing countries which has plenty God given water resources, we should think on how to conserve this precious natural element. We can start by conserving our wastewater.

There are two type of wastewater that can be conserved. One is wastewater from your washing machine. The other one is waste water from your kitchen zink.

Conserving wastewater from your washing machine requires a little bit capital to invest. You need to build a small tank on your yards and pipeline system to connect to your washing machine. So,everytime the machine waste the water, it would go directly to that tank. From that thank you can water your garden.

There is one thing to remember, in order to use your waste water to water your garden, you must use bio gradable type of detergent for your washing. This type of detergent does not contain complex phosphate and sodium tripolyphosphate that can kill plants and fishes in the stream. It uses enzymes like protease and amylase instead.

Next is to use your wastewater from your kitchen zink. Most people when they wash their vegies or fruits, they just let the water flowing down from the tab into the zink exit. Now you can put a plastic basin in the zink to collect that water everytime you wash your vegies or fruits. Then when you finish you can just use that water for your garden.

The effort to conserve the wastewater may give you a bit hustle for the first time. Once it becomes a habit, it won’t make you feel that way.
